Disasters often take us by surprise. However, there are a few steps we can do to give us peace of mind in the event of an unexpected disaster:
Sign up for direct deposit.
Sign up for internet banking and bill pay. Get in the habit of paying bills on line so that the payee information is stored in your computer. You can even schedule automatic payments using bill pay.
Sign up for a debit card.
Make sure your insurance coverage is adequate especially if you have done renovations. Take pictures and send them to your insurance agent.
Rent a safe deposit box to store important documents. However, remember that during a disaster, your access to these documents may be limited.
BANKING STAFF PREPAREDNESS:
In the event of a disaster, Bank employees are encouraged to take the following steps:
Contact your supervisor located on your emergency phone listing card.
Telephone the Bank for any recorded messages.
Check your cell phones and email for instructions.
If all communication lines are down, meet at the designated rally point.
